Title 1: Data Analytics for Smart Energy Cyber-Physical System Security

Biography:

 

Professor Shiyan Hu received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008. He has served as an Associate Professor (with Tenure) and Director of Center for Cyber-Physical Systems at Michigan Technological University. He was a Visiting Professor at IBM Research (Austin) in 2010, and a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford University from 2015 to 2016. His research interests include Cyber-Physical Systems and Cyber-Physical System Security, where he has published more than 100 refereed papers, including 50+ in premier IEEE/ACM Transactions.

 

Prof. Hu is an ACM Distinguished Speaker, an IEEE Systems Council Distinguished Lecturer, a recipient of the 2017 IEEE Computer Society TCSC Middle Career Researcher Award, the 2014 U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, and the 2009 ACM SIGDA Richard Newton DAC Scholarship. His publications have been awarded several Best Paper Award and Best Paper Finalists, which includes the 2018 IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award. His papers have also been highlighted as a Keynote Paper in IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design in 2017, as a Thomson Reuters ESI Highly Cited Paper in 2017/2018, and as the Front Cover in IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience in March 2014. His ultra fast slew buffering technique has been widely deployed in industry for designing over 50 microprocessor and ASIC chips such as IBM flagship chips POWER 7 and 8. His research has been featured in various public media such as National Science Foundation News Headlines, Science Daily, CBS, IEEE Spectrum, and Communications of ACM.

 

Prof. Hu is the Chair for IEEE Technical Committee on Cyber-Physical Systems. He is the Editor-In-Chief of IET Cyber-Physical Systems: Theory & Applications. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, ACM Transactions on Design Automation for Electronic Systems, and ACM Transactions on Cyber-Physical Systems. He is also a Guest Editor for eight IEEE/ACM journals such as Proceedings of the IEEE and IEEE Transactions on Computers. He has held chair positions in numerous IEEE/ACM conferences. He is a Fellow of IET.

 

Title 2: Review on Recent Progress in Condition Awareness of Electrical Equipment towards Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things

Biography:

 

​Prof. Guogang Zhang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1997 and 2004, respectively. He has been an Associate Professor with Electrical Engineering School, Xi’an Jiaotong University and also a fixed-term researcher of the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment since 2008. He was appointed as the vice director, executive director of the department of electrical apparatus from 2010. He has been a Committee Member of Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus Committee of China Electrotechnical Society and Committee Member of TC27 of Standardization Administration of China from 2015.

 

Prof. Zhang was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for High Voltage Technology and Electrical Power Systems Institute, TUB, Germany from 2017 to 2018, supported by the CSC funding. He joined the institute of Electrical Equipment and Intelligent Systems and the Research Center of Advanced Energy Storage for Electric Power Grid, Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2018. Now, He is also an active member of the Key Laboratory of National Energy Advanced Power Grid and Reliability and Lifetime Assessment Technologies, Intelligent Apparatus Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education, Intelligent Apparatus and Computer-aided Design Engineering Research Center of Shaanxi Province.

 

His current research interests include theory and application of intelligent electrical apparatus, electric arc plasma and electrical contact theory, and power equipment for renewable energy. He has published more than 150 articles in journals and at conferences, 2 books, 2 book chapters and own 12 patents for invention. He won the First Prize of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2008 and Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award of China in 2009.

张国钢,毕业于西安交通大学,获博士学位(2004),现任教于西安交通大学电气工程学院,副教授,博士生导师。电力设备电气绝缘国家重点实验室固定研究人员,国家能源先进电网与装备可靠性及寿命评估技术重点实验室EMC实验室负责人,先进电力储能技术研究中心、智能化电器教育部工程研究中心、陕西省智能电器及CAD工程研究中心、电器装备及智能化系统研究所主要成员。2010年起,任西安交通大学电气工程学院电器教研室副主任、常务副主任。2015年起,担任中国电工技术学会低压电器专业委员会委员,SAC/TC27标委会委员。2017年-2018年,CSC访问学者,赴德国访问交流。

主要研究方向为:智能电器理论与工程、电弧与电接触、新能源电力装备。主持了国家自然科学基金面上项目、陕西省自然科学基金项目、中央高校专项科研项目、国家社科基金重点项目子项目、国家重点实验室基础研究创新基金项目、电网公司项目、企业合作项目等多项研究课题。在国内外学术刊物和会议上发表论文150余篇,主编国家级教材2部和采编手册2部。授权发明专利12项、实用新型专利2项和软件著作权6项。获国家科技进步二等奖1项,陕西省科学技术奖一等奖1项。
